All of the supplies for these craft projects came from Dollar Tree except for the spray paint. This is the spray paint that I used. You can get it at Walmart too for around the same price. I was able to make all of these projects with about ½ a can of spray paint so you’ll have some left over for other projects!
Black and Gold Dollar Store Halloween Decorations
Skeleton Hands Candleholder Halloween Centerpiece
Supplies:
- glue gun
- glue sticks
Materials:
- plastic skeleton hands
- glass taper candleholder
- black sand or other filler
- votive or small pillar candle
- gold spray paint
- round glass candleholder
Cost: $5
Time: 10 Minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
Instructions:
- Paint the skeleton hands and taper candleholder gold and let them dry.
- Glue the skeleton hands together in a circle, making sure it’s dry and securely glued together before the next step.
- Add glue to the rim of the taper candleholder and put the skeleton hands on top of the glue.
- Put glue on top of the skeleton hands in the inner circle and put the round glass candleholder on top, pressing down to make sure it’s well-attached.
- Add black sand or whatever filler you choose to the inside of the round candleholder.
- Put your candle on top of the filler.
Gold Skull Candleholder
Supplies:
- craft knife
Materials:
- plastic skull
- gold spray paint
- black candle
Cost: $3
Time: Under 5 Minutes
Difficulty Level: Super Easy
Instructions:
- Spray paint your skull gold and let it dry.
- Cut out an X shape in the center of the skull big enough for the candle.
- Push the candle through the hole in the middle.
DIY Gold Bone Candleholder
Supplies:
- glue gun
- glue stick
Materials:
- plastic bones
- tall vase or candleholder
- gold spray paint
- LED candle
- frosted glass spray paint (optional)
Cost: $4
Time: 5 Minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
Instructions:
- Spray paint the bones gold.
- Spray paint the vase / candleholder with frosted glass (optional).
- Glue the bones evenly around the vase.
- Add your LED candle to the inside of the candleholder.
Halloween Party Menu Board
Supplies:
- painter’s tape
- paint brushes
- paper
Materials:
- halloween party platter
- gold spray paint
- chalkboard paint
Cost: $3
Time: 15 Minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
Instructions:
- Line the edges of the bat border with painter’s tape on a piece of paper big enough to fit inside the platter.
- Spray paint the bat border gold and let it dry completely.
- Slowly and carefully peel the painter’s tape and paper off the platter.
- Line the bat border with painter’s tape and paint the interior with chalk paint. Let it dry.
- Peel the painter’s tape off again. Be extra careful because chalk paint is prone to peeling off plastic easily.
- You may need to go over the edges again with a tiny paint brush and chalk paint if there are any spots along the edge that aren’t even or filled in properly.
